One board a day

Daily Minesweeper

Today's board is the same for every player at each difficulty, already opened at the centre so nobody starts with a lucky first click. Pick a level, finish the board, and compare your time with a link that replays the identical position.

Click inside the game to play. Use Fullscreen for a bigger view.

Opens on the Daily tab. Pick Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert in the level bar, or a date for a past board.

Why a daily board is different

Most Minesweeper runs start from a random layout, so two times are never quite comparable: one player opens into a large empty region, another starts against a wall of numbers. The daily board removes that variable. The date and the difficulty are hashed into a seed, the seed produces the layout, and every player on that day starts from the same opening.

That makes the timer meaningful. A faster time on the daily board is a faster solve of the same position, not a luckier board.

How to play today's board

  1. 01Choose a difficulty in the level bar: Beginner 9×9, Intermediate 16×16, or Expert 30×16.
  2. 02The board is already open at the centre. Start from the numbers on the edge of that opening.
  3. 03Flag with right-click, long-press, or Flag mode; chord by clicking a satisfied number.
  4. 04Finish the board and use Challenge link to send the exact same position to a friend.

Play a past day's board

Missed a day, or want to see whether yesterday was easier? The date field above the board opens any earlier day back to 5 July 2026. Each date produces exactly the same layout it produced on the day, because the board is derived from the date rather than stored, so a past challenge is replayed rather than rebuilt.

Past boards also keep the streak honest: results are recorded against the date you played, and the streak counts consecutive days with a cleared board rather than consecutive visits.

Share a result without spoiling the board

The result card's Copy result button produces a text summary built for chat: the date, your difficulty and time, your current streak, and an emoji picture of the finished board. Cleared cells are green, covered cells are dark, and flags stay flags — the numbers are never included, so the picture shows how your run went without solving today's board for anyone who has not played it yet.

Save image draws the same result as a 1080×1080 card you can drop straight into a group chat or a post: your time in large type, the level and 3BV, the streak, and the board itself. It is generated in the browser from the board you just finished, so there is no upload, no account, and nothing to crop.

Clearing a daily board on consecutive days builds a streak, shown next to your result and in the daily status line. A missed day resets it. Results live in your browser's local storage, so the streak belongs to this device and no account is needed.

A daily habit without the guesswork

The daily board is generated with the same no-guess verification as the rest of this version: a logic solver checks the board before it is shown, and a board that needs a coin flip is thrown away. If you get stuck, the Hint button finds a move that is provably safe. The daily challenge is therefore a test of reading the board, not of luck.

Your best times and daily results stay in your browser. There is no account and no upload, so the only thing you need to keep is the habit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Minesweeper daily challenge?+

It is one board per difficulty per day. Everyone who plays that day gets the same mine layout, already opened at the centre, so two players start from exactly the same position and their times can be compared.

When does a new daily board appear?+

At local midnight. The board is derived from the date and the difficulty, so it changes once per day and is identical for every player in the same time zone.

Can I replay the same daily board?+

Yes. Reloading the page or pressing New game regenerates the same board for that day, so you can retry a run without waiting for tomorrow.

Is the daily board no-guess?+

The daily challenge uses the same verified generation as No-Guess mode: the board is checked with the logic solver before play, so it can be cleared without a coin flip.

How do I compare my time with a friend?+

Finish a run and use Challenge link on the result card. The link carries the board seed and opening click, so your friend plays the identical board rather than a similar one.

Does the daily challenge save my result?+

Your daily results and best times are stored in your browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

How do I share my daily result?+

Use Copy result on the result card for a text summary, or Save image for a 1080×1080 card with the date, difficulty, time, streak and the finished board. Both leave the numbers out, so the summary does not spoil the board for other players.

How does the daily streak work?+

Clear at least one daily board per day to extend the streak. It is counted from your saved daily results on this device, and a day with no cleared board resets it.

Can I play yesterday's daily Minesweeper board?+

Yes. Use the date field above the board, or open /games/minesweeper/daily/?date=2026-10-20 with any date from 5 July 2026 onward. Each date regenerates the identical board.
