How to spot hidden rooms and secret paths

Moss Moss hides many of its best collectibles behind walls, floors, and ceilings that look solid but can actually be passed through. The most reliable way to find these passages is to watch for visual clues: a wall tile that is slightly different in shade, a gap in the moss pattern, or a small cluster of particles near a surface. When you suspect a hidden path, walk or dash directly into the wall. If your character passes through, you have found a secret room. Make it a habit to test every dead-end wall and any surface that looks out of place, especially in rooms where the collectible counter suggests something is still missing.

A room with no moss at all is a room you have not searched. Compare this with a room you have walked through: the surfaces you touched stay green.

Finding spirits throughout the world

Moss Moss has 15 spirits, the small white collectibles that players often call rabbits, bunnies, or slugcats. They are scattered across the entire map, and many sit in locations that require creative movement to reach. Spirits tend to hide in elevated alcoves, behind fake walls, and at the end of optional platforming challenges that branch off the main path. If you enter a room and notice a ledge that seems too high or a gap that appears decorative, there is a good chance a spirit is waiting on the other side. The game does not show how many spirits remain, so keep your own count as you explore.

Leaves in overlooked locations

Leaves are more numerous than spirits, with 32 spread across the map, so it is common to finish a first run with a few still missing. The leaves that players overlook most often are the ones tucked into corners of rooms they passed through quickly, or placed along paths that require a non-obvious movement sequence to access. Revisit rooms where you collected one leaf but the layout suggests space for more. Check above doorways, beneath platforms that seem purely structural, and along the edges of vertical shafts. Rooms near the beginning of the game are especially worth revisiting once you have the crown's double jump.

Post-crown exploration and the Fully Mossed ending

Reaching the crown is a major milestone, but the game does not end there: the crown unlocks a double jump, and the last spirit is reached by heading left with that new ability. After picking up the crown, return to the parts of the map you have not fully explored. Several hidden areas only become reachable now. Once you have all 32 leaves and all 15 spirits, use the secret exit at the top of 5-1 and ride the spirit elevator to trigger the Fully Mossed ending. If your counts are close but not full, focus on rooms where the moss coverage looks incomplete — bare spots on walls and floors often indicate a path you have not yet taken.
